Hey everyone!

My name is Emmy and I am the owner of Emmy Medrano Photography. Welcome to my first ever blog! I am glad you are here and considering me or have booked with me to be your photographer. So who is Emmy Medrano Photography? I am a Bay Area photographer specializing is newborn, motherhood, and family photography. I started my photography three years ago. 

What made me want to become a photographer?

Honestly it was a spur of the moment idea when I decided to get into photography. I just had had my son and I was all into being a mommy that I wanted to make sure I photographed every second of my little ones life. That is when I realized I wanted to be a newborn photographer. My husband bought me my first ever camera (canon 60d) and now here we are! To be completely honest I never thought I would be where I am today. Being able to do something I am so passionate about but still have so much fun doing it makes me feel whole.

What helped me with being a Bay Area newborn photographer?

Before even becoming a photographer I worked in a pediatric clinic. The babies we would see were only a couple days old. I loved everything about being able to work with kids. Children are my happy place, I have three little ones of my own! A 4 year old, 18 month old, and a 2 month old. Yes, my days are super busy especially having 2 under 2 but I honestly wouldn’t want it any other way! My kids give me more motivation to keep growing my photography business. They definitely fuel my creativeness and I am always trying to find new ways to showcase the style of my photography!

I got into more motherhood and family photography in just the last year.

Being pregnant brought out this new fuel in me and I knew I wanted to provide my clients a beautiful experience in their pregnancy journey. I love to tell stories within the photographs I take of my clients. I want the images to express the raw side of their journey including any imperfections but making sure those imperfections reflect the strong woman showcasing them. When it comes to my motherhood and family sessions I am not a posey photographer at all! Candid moments is what I strive and like I have mentioned I want to tell a story in my images. I like to see every side of a family and not only just of them looking at my camera.
